She is the author of Marvel’s Panther’s Rage novel (forthcoming August 31, 2022) , a contributor to Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda, and a collaborator with Janelle Monáe on The Memory Librarian and Other Stories of Dirty Computer. She is a co-editor of Africa Risen: A New Era of Speculative Fiction (Tordotcom) and Trouble the Waters: Tales of the Deep Blue (Third Man Books).

Her fiction collection, Nine Bar Blues: Stories from an Ancient Future, was a Finalist for the 2021 Ignyte, Locus, and World Fantasy Awards. Sheree Renée Thomas is an award-winning author, editor, and poet whose work is inspired by music, natural science, and mythology. She is the author of two multigenre/hybrid collections, Sleeping Under the Tree of Life (Aqueduct Press July 2016), longlisted for the 2016 Otherwise Award and honored with a Publishers Weekly Starred Review and Shotgun Lullabies (Aqueduct January 2011). She is also the author of the novel, Marvel's Black Panther: Panther's Rage (Titan Books, October 11, 2022), an adaptation of the legendary comics. Nine Bar Blues: Stories from an Ancient Future (Third Man Books, May 2020) is her fiction debut. Her work is inspired by myth and folklore, natural science and Mississippi Delta conjure.
